The New England Journal of Medicine published a funny article that links per capita chocolate consumption and Nobel Prizes per population. It is a good piece to get students started to think about correlation vs. causation and even if you buy the authors (humorous and only somewhat scientific) explanation, there are enough "weaknesses" in the study to discuss with your students - for example the time frame during which chocolate consumption was measured and the time frame during which Nobel Prizes were "earned"
